Anish Aggarwal - Chief Executive Officer
Professional Experience:
Anish is an entrepreneur with a focus within the real estate sector and a track record of developing real estate strategies that align with investors’ requirements and delivering for investors since the 1990’s.
He has acquired, developed and exited transactions with a GDV of over £1 billion within the real estate sector currently focusing on the Hospitality ‘Hotel’, Private Rented Sector/ Build To Rent ‘PRS/ BTR’ and Purpose Built Student Accommodation ‘PBSA’ sectors across the UK/ Europe.
Through his Corporate Finance Advisory work, he has advised the Kurdish Regional Government and clients on strategy and business development in the Kurdish region in Northern Iraq for c. 5 years from 2003 and since focused on Emerging Markets where he has raised finance and advised on other corporate transactions in excess of £1 billion.
He has recently launched a Green Hotel Fund ‘GHF’ which is a joint venture between Red Ribbon Fund Management and Phoenix. The GHF is a closed-end, regulated, experienced investor fund which will be registered and listed on the GSX in Gibraltar by end of Q3 2022. It will specifically target hotel development sites and existing hotels in prime locations in key cities across the UK that can be re-positioned, working with the best operator/ brand for any particular site.
He has also been working over the past few years to see how we can leverage technology to ‘future proof’ our business and been making targeted investments in various proptech, cleantech and fintech opportunities, and soon to launch a tech/ blockchain fund.
Anish is also the Trustee of a charity, Schools For Nepal which he co-founded in 2015 soon after the earthquake, building schools in the earthquake affected areas in Nepal

Angus MacDonald - Chief Hospitality Officer
Professional Experience:
Angus is an experienced senior hospitality professional with a proven track record in hotel development and asset management.
He has worked in the hospitality sector for c. 25 years, with extensive experience in hotel operations, development, financial appraisal, financing and asset management; with an extensive network and relationships within all the main hotel operating companies.
He spent more than a decade expanding City Inn where he facilitated c. £550m of financing, managed the development and then opened multiple hotels, including the eventual portfolio sale to the Blackstone Group.
He has most recently served as the head of development strategy, finance director and commercial director for a number of large hotel brands including Thistle Hotels and GLH Hotels.
Current objectives include managing the Green Hotel Fund, our pipeline of other development sites across the UK and advising on various technology investments Phoenix are making in the proptech, fintech and cleantech sectors.

Amran Raja - Chief Development Officer
Professional Experience:
Amran has worked in the construction industry for c. 30 years, the last 15 years have been specifically focused on real estate development and interior fit-out projects; with an extensive network and relationships with all the main contractors and through the supply chain.
He is architecturally trained and transitioned into Project and Commercial Management, with a specialisation in Design Management and Process Development, to ensure both design and commercial balances are struck without compromising the client brief.
He has extensive experience of working on a range of design & build and detailed build projects, both single stage and two stage tenders. He has delivered numerous projects under both JCT and NEC-3 forms of contracts. He is trained in Alternate Dispute Resolution, developing teams and strategic project delivery plans.
He has worked for tier 1 contractors such as ISG and Mace Group and overseen the delivery of c. 12 million² ft. of commercial developments internationally to date including a 1.1 million² ft. HQ for Lehman Brothers in Canary Wharf.
